Interactive Software Simulation
The USDA utilizes a software platform known as the Public Health Information System (PHIS), which supports food safety inspections for meat, poultry, and egg products. This system is used by both agency personnel and food processing establishments. I developed concise, task-focused software simulations designed to help users practice performing routine operations within the PHIS environment. Simulations were developed using Articulate Storyline.

Non-Interactive Tutorial
I also created non-interactive tutorials for the USDA’s Public Health Information System (PHIS), designed to offer clear, step-by-step instruction and support users in understanding and navigating routine processes within the platform. Tutorials were developed using Articulate Storyline.

Course
I updated multiple training courses for the USDA, enhancing both content accuracy and instructional design. These courses were revised and rebuilt using Articulate Storyline, incorporating updated visuals and interactive elements to create a more engaging and user-friendly learning experience.

Administrator's Guide
I led the development of the Administrator’s Guide as both the primary SME and technical writer for a proprietary software product developed by my employer.

Instructor Guide
One of IBM’s software offerings was a social learning management system (LMS) designed to support collaborative learning within organizations. After implementation, clients required training to effectively use the platform. The development of the accompanying Instructor Guide was a collaborative effort; I authored the Introduction to Participate chapter as well as the five subsequent chapters, contributing to the overall instructional design and structure of the guide.

Job Aid
In some cases, a full training course isn’t necessary, or additional support materials are needed to complement existing instruction. In these situations, concise job aids can effectively meet the need. I created job aids in response to recurring client questions, common issues, and to share best practices with colleagues.

ILT Course
I designed, developed, and facilitated an ILT course on Adobe Captivate for another training department at the USDA. The course was delivered remotely, over 2 days, 3.5 hours each day.

Each lesson had a folder associated with it, containing 1-3 files: a Captivate project for the student to work off of, a job aid with step-by-step instructions for the practice activity, and any supplemental files, as needed.

Microlearning Course
This sample course was built in Articulate Rise to demonstrate my skills in creating responsive, interactive e-learning. All content and images were generated using AI tools, highlighting my ability to integrate emerging technology into the instructional design process.
